300-million-dollars of controversy is grounded as the State Senate talks the so-called “Aerotropolis” plan out of the special session's economic development bill. Those tax credits were proposed to help build an air cargo hub at Lambert International Airport in St. Louis.
House Majority Leader Tim Jones says the idea originally had broad support but lost it when questions were raised about the details. He is one of those who cooled to the idea.

That's the opinion of State House Majority Leader Tim Jones after the so-called “Aerotropolis” plan stalls out in the Senate.The idea was to provide over 300-million-dollars in tax credits to promote an air cargo hub at St. Louis International Airport.
Supporters of the idea say it would have created jobs statewide by increasing exports of Missouri products.Jones says other tax credit programs should still be considered on their merits.
