Interview with Former State Representative Rex Rector (R-Harrisonville)
Interview with Former State Representative Rex Rector (R-Harrisonville)
Rex Rector, a Republican from Cass County, served three terms in the Missouri House of Representatives (2001 – 2006) and is now running to replace Chris Koster in the Senate.
During his interview on “Missouri Viewpoints”, Rector says he’s running because he feels the state’s government has grown too big and too intrusive. That growth, he contends, is infringing on the freedoms of Missourians.
Rector states that he wants to see taxes cut and says government should have only a “small role” in health care. He said he favors the implementation of a medical savings account program in the state as a way to allow individuals to control their own health care decisions.
Property rights are essential to maintaining a strong economy, according to the candidate although he does feel that the use of eminent domain is sometimes necessary.
Rector also discussed why he believes “Covenant Marriages” are good for the children of Missouri.
